EP212: Saying "Yes" to Solitude with Rebekah Iliff

As a minimalist, one of my goals is to find time to regularly shut out the noise and prioritize alone time. It isn’t always easy to find dedicated time to myself each week but, even if for a half hour evening walk, I try to prioritize solitude in my life. Here today to share more about her findings and musings on solitude/alone time is author, Rebekah Iliff.

About Rebekah

As a Nashville-based entrepreneur and writer, Rebekah Iliff’s work has been featured in publications such as Mashable, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Inc, Spin Sucks, Syndrome Magazine, Wry Times, Slackjaw Humor, Weekly Humorist, Jane Austen’s Wastebasket, Erma Bombeck blog, Topeka Capital-Journal, Chicken Soup for The Soul, and many more. She is a top humor and satire writer on Medium, and writes a regularly recurring column called “Simon Says” for industry leading humor publication Points in Case. Additionally, she has written voiceover scripts for actors including former Saturday Night Live star and comedian Jon Lovitz, actress/model Tia Carrere, and actor/director Robert Davi. Iliff is a graduate of The Second City, holds a B.A. in Philosophy, a dual M.A. in Applied Community Psychology/Organizational Management, and a self-awarded Ph.D. from The School of Hard Knocks. Her satire and humor writing is inspired by everything from losing her best friend in a tragic accident and finding herself alone in a newly renovated house meant for two, to finally getting married at 40 and learning to live with a “cultured redneck” with a penchant for hunting squirrels in the backyard.
